Great Oral Health is an Essential Part of a Healthy Lifestyle
Individual dental insurance plans can help you maximize your oral health. In fact, people with dental insurance are more than twice as likely to visit their dentist regularly. Use Delta Dental individual dental insurance locator to find an individual or family dental insurance plan today.
Why you need a dental insurance plan?
Dental Insurance is designed to pay the costs associated with dental care. Dental insurance offers a protection from unexpected dental expenses by paying all or a portion of the bills from dentists, and other providers of dental services.
Most of us will need some kind of major dental work sometime in our lives. A dental insurance plan can help to deal with the cost of dental care without compromising our health by leaving any dental problems untreated.
The increase on life expectancy has also increased the need for dental care in order to keep teeth in good condition. As we get older we may find ourselves in a greater risk to need major dental work even if we take good daily care of our teeth.
Protect your smile. Protect your budget. That’s smart.
Delta Dental has a variety of dental insurance plans designed for groups and individuals. Delta Dental offers preferred provider organization (PPO), dental health maintenance organization (DHMO) and dental discount plans.
Our individual and family dental plans give you a choice of coverage options that focus on prevention – making sure you get the oral health care you need at a cost you can afford. Now that’s smart.
Delta Dental offers a variety of plan options, as well as plans that meet all the guidelines of the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) Pediatric Dental Essential Health Benefit (EHB). Individuals do not have to purchase pediatric dental coverage from a medical carrier, and the pediatric dental EHB does not have to be embedded in a medical plan or purchased from a medical carrier or exchange.
Studies have linked gum disease to systemic conditions, such as diabetes and heart disease, and indicate that some form of gum disease affects 75 percent of the U.S. population. Preventive dental care, such as regular cleanings, is the most effective way to protect oral health. And because oral health care is so important to overall health, our individual coverage includes Delta Dental of Illinois’ Enhanced Benefits Program*, which offers enhanced coverage for individuals who have specific health conditions that can be positively affected by additional oral health care – like pregnancy, diabetes, high-risk cardiac conditions and suppressed immune systems.
